How do I convert kB/second to mega bytes?

Per second is per second.
1024 BYTES equals 1 KILOBYTE.
1024 KB = 1MB

However:
1000 bits = 1 Kbit
1000 Kb = 1 Mb.

Its all about computers having an easier time with 2^10 rather than 10^3.

EDIT: As I understand, peta comes after terra.

It wont be measured in MB per second because its about 0.001 or so.
Is there a reason for this thread? Are you getting reamed by a cable provider?

.01074

but are you sure you're DLing at 11kB/sec? Often it is reported as kb/sec.

I am downloading an episode of the cloane wars. I knwo it has 250 more megabytes to DL and I know my rate is fluctuating between 11 and 20 kB/sec
