How do I convert images on paint to black and white

My yearbook is asking for photo's of students, without color. How do I print a photo from paint without using color?

I tried converting the image to black and white from the attributes panel but that just make the photo all black. (unable to view)

fyi: I'm using a digital camera.

Suggestions please? It's due tomorrow.

Any responses will be GREATLY appreciated.

Here's my only suggestion. I don't think Paint can do this on its own. You can download another very well-known and useful program called IrfanView:

IrfanView

It's free, it's a media player essentially. It's not loaded with spam or junk, and it's easy to use. I KNOW it works for what you want to do because I just did it. It took me al of about 15 secodns to load the program, load a color pic and convert it to balcak and white.

This is done by going to Image/Convert to Grayscale. That will change your pic to b & w.

Good luck....hope this helps.
