I waited that long on my claim too and then I just filed a dispute with my credit card. I had the money back the next day and half.com sent me an email saying they had refunded me the money. They were just trying to make themselves look good and it took my credit card's power to force them to refund me.

That's a good idea.

Yeah, what a crappy CC company. You never received the materials, so why can't you do a chargeback if Half.com is taking no action?

I filed from AMEX and Half.com simultaneously. Half.com gave me a refund within 2 weeks. Maybe within 1 week. I filed the day I read that thread about someone not receiving their textbooks. I'm guessing it was the same seller because someone just racked up 400 negative feedbacks about a month - 2 months ago.

Even better: never ever use a debit card anywhere. You have no real protections with a debit card. You have voluntary protections that can vary with the whim of the company. With credit cards, you have federal laws protecting your rights.

Then you should easily be able to deny the charge. You are the boss and sometimes you just gotta tell them what you want to do.

I did, they gave me half.com's phone number. I did demand it.
