Well...yer...gonna wanna...share some drives....and....

Usually seems faster for me if I set the IP's manually, ie 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2

be sure you have IPX/SPX TCP/IP and NetBeui installed and enabled. though, I'm pretty sure you shouldnt have to set up all of that in XP.

Why did you say that? If you were trying to be funny, you weren't. The guy is asking a question and your reply is out of order.

Huh? That was a perfectly reasonable, albeit misinformed, reply.
You need neither IPX/SPX nor NetBEUI on Windows XP -- just TCP/IP and Client for Microsoft Networks.

Because he listed 3 different protocols I guess. Isn't NetBEUI is safer for sharing file/print services over TCP/IP?

Use the windows XP network setup thing it shoudl do it all for you. iit should be under start->control panel->netowrking, unless you alwready had some kind of network set up if thats teh case i dont know how to bring the auto setup thingy back

This is usually not the best way as it sets the settings to how it thinks they should be and often makes more of a mess of things, try doing it by hand first.
