I did not like the way logitech setpoint worked with my MX518 so I uninstalled it from the control panel and my mouse is still under some kind of control from it some how not the way it was when the program was installed but it does not act not it should after a fresh XP install so what can I do short of a reformat? Thanks

There may be a remover at the Logitech site check out there forums for more info. Out of curiosity which version set did you use? I have had no problems using the newest, 4.0..... downloaded from Logitech it has been very stable for me.

What about SetPoint didn't work out for you? They don't have a separate uninstaller for it. You'll have to go through your Program Files folder and make sure to delete the SetPoint folder in the Logitech Folder (or the whole Logitech folder if you don't have any other Logitech things installed). Check the Common Files folder, the

C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Application Data

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data

folders and go through your registry and delete all SetPoint stuff.

I have Setpoint 4.x installed as well .Works fine with my MX1000 Wireless Laser Mouse.

A normal uninstall should work. But if it did not, then do what suggested above to remove it.
You may have to stop it in Device Manager before you go to the Add / Remove for it.

i have no idea why he doesn't like SetPoint

but a Logitech mouse without SetPoint is like a cripple car missing a few seats and bolts.

that's the thing i like the most about Logitech Mouses.

I upgraded to setpoint 4.00 with the uberoptions and I'm happy now but the reason I did not like set point because it did not work in Mozilla Firefox correctly. When I hit the back button sometimes it would bring up the find box with weird characters in it and the cruise up/down some times works and times did not. When I had a fresh install of XP all off those functions worked fine.

well the back button will only work, if you actually have something to go back to

if there is nothing to go back to, then yes that search box will pop up, i know because it happens to me too.

so it is working properly.

re: cruise up and down, can you a bit more specific when it does not work for you?
