How do I clear the power interference that is coming from my LCD?

My Dell 2001FP LCD is causing a very loud hum in my amp, even when the amp is at 0 volume. Interestingly, when I play a fullscreen video, the hum decreases, but it is still very audible. The hum goes away only when the LCD is off! Right now, the amp is plugged into the same wall socket as the LCD, the LCD is plugged in a power bar. But I've noticed that even when the amp is plugged in another wall socket, it still has the hum! Anyone have any suggestions?

Is it a cheap amp by any chance? Maybe it has trouble filtering line noise?

Have you try a power filter?

Its actually a really expensive, audiophile stereo amp. Wouldn't better amps be more sensitive to power interference? I have not tried power filters yet, I'll probably have to go to radio shack to look around.

It's actually quite the opposite, better amps are better shielded against interference, either broadcast or line noise. If you gonna try a power filter, please don't go to radio shack, invest in a good filter.
