a week ago me and my friends got drunk and this one dude came into my dorm room and spilled Full Throttle energy drink all over my fking guitar equipment. I was too drunk to clean it up or even know where it spilled so I ignored it, until I plugged my bass into one of my eqiupments just now......... the buttons were all jammed (sticky as hell that it won't press at all) and the unit is sticky and everything. the drink penetrated into the buttons and knobs and some of them won't press at all. What's the best way to wipe sugar off of electronics?

thanks. I am never gonna have drunk people in my room anymore.

Sugar is hydrophillic and water-soluable. you can rinse off your electronics and the (if possible) bake them dry in your oven or a hair dryer. Just make sure none of the components will not be harmed with water. You can also try a dilution of alchol to help facilitate quicker evaporation.

electronics cleaner spray,you can get at Radio Shack;

use that to get what a damp wet cloth can't get.

Some spray cleaners are bad on plastic,I bought some stuff at a local
electronics parts store,that was safe for plastic,so read the label.

*This has worked for me in the past; YMMV

1. Remove circuit board assemblies
2. Dip assemblies in distilled water and brush gently with paint brush or similar
3. Remove from water and pat dry with towel
4. Spray rubbing alcohol onto surfaces and into spaces to expidite drying
5. Let dry a few hours and reassemble
6. Wait 24-48 hours before applying power
