How do I burn an .iso file to CD-R using Nero?

Downloaded and .iso file and want to burn it to disc to run it. When I did this and ran the disc, I get a short DOS screen that disappears and nothing happens. What am I doing wrong, I probably need to change something or rename it. it says .exe but is described as an .iso file. Do I need to rename it to .iso before I burn it or if it says xxx.iso.exe, do I delete the .exe? If so, what is the best way to do this using Windows XP as I can't seem to find how to rename extensions with XP.
Thanks...

Turn on Nero, close the wizard box, click on "File" at the top left, click on "Burn Image" in the drop down box, browse to the image, and then burn!

This one should be on the FAQs by now...

Altough it is well documented inside Ahead's helptool also...

Just an FYI, if the iso process dosent work the drive your copying from dosent support 1:1 copy's.
