seriously, read books.

Too much ADHD from GenY onward to do this. I can't even read a news article on the internet any longer before I'm already reading the comments section about said news article and obtaining my dose of modern world events through others flaming each other.

Visualization is probably the best way imo. Seeing how to solve a problem, no matter how abstract goes a long way in being a good problem solver. Like sometimes when I'm writing code - I'll picture a tree (those things that grow outside in the real world) and sort of see in a non-physical way (can't really describe this) or just know the what the purpose of each branch is and how it may connect to others. Yeah I know it's weird, but it kind of works. I've read you can practice visualization - it's something I've never bothered to try though as I think I've always had some form of it.

You're pretty much born with it, but make sure you're eating and sleeping right. Then find something to learn about (typically by reading) that you're interested in, do that at least three times per week. You will gradually become ensmartened.

Also, avoid P&N, that's sage advice.

I don't believe this to be true. This is a fixed mindset that will destroy your confidence.

Intelligence isn't something you're born with, it can be largely developed through grit/tenacity.

If you go to the common area there are NPCs that can train you in various skills, if you right click on them. You need to bring gold. They will only train you up to a certain point then it's a grindfest.

Start by doing ' hard work' that means practice a lot repeat of necessary and slowly move towards ' smart work'. Don't look for short cuts n believe in your self.

Or you can use red squirrel's method. Play online with higher level players. Let them do most of the killing and earn gold quickly.

Reality tends to be a depressing place. Mental ability is exactly like physical ability, most of your potential is genetic and the other 20% or so is up to you to develop. A person born a retard just isn't going to work themself up to average intelligence anymore than a person born without legs is going to work themself up to a seven minute mile.

I think it is. I've worked with profoundly mentally retarded adults before. No amount of grit/tenacity was going to have them designing nuclear reactors. As it was, it often took 3 or more months to learn something far less complicated as the difference between red and green. (I was never sure what the purpose of that goal was - were we preparing them for eventually driving, which at their pace of learning, was about 40,000 years away?)

I see no reason to suspect that many these people are exceptions, rather than one end of a bell curve.

Now, most people don't necessarily live up to their potential, so yes, they can become more developed. But, the upper limit varies by individual.
