How do I back up my ICQ contact list + history??

So i totally mess up my registry by applying some tweaks here & there..... 😱 But let's not get into that....Too gory.....:|


Anyhoo, i gotta do a format and re-install Windows yada yada yada......But what i would like to do is back-up my ICq contact list(s) and also try to salvage my ICq history (which is pretty important to me).

How would i go about this? What files should i keep? Thanks.
 
i just copy the icq dir somewhere safe and put it back after a format then install over it...

copy your database directory
name could vary depending on the version. i think it used to be called db in older icq version.
the current one is called 2000b

then wipe yoru drive
install windows, icq
add yoru UIN to the machine. close icq
overwrite directory
start icq
