How do I back up important data

I would like to know how you image a drive, what software to use (besides norton as I hate it) and how do i store that image...

You hate ghost?

Do you need to just backup important info or actually image the whole drive?

One backup isn't enough if the data is really important. Even if you ghost the whole drive it would be a good idea to do another backup(s) to CD-R, DVD+/-R and or tape and keep it at a remote location.

Yeah, external hard drives are great. Get on newegg and get an external drive shell and select your own drive of choice to use in it....lots cheaper and you get more options!

Try Acronis TrueImage 7.0 I previously used Ghost and also didn't care for it very much. TrueImage absolutely rocks! They used to have a free demo so you could try before you by. Just google for it.
