I'm trying to share drives, but server service is not listed in the services list at all. Any help is much appreciated.

To share something all you have to do is right-click on the icon (in this case the hard-drive icon) and then go down to sharing and enter the relevant info you want. The server service will start automatically (I think) either when someone connects to your drive or when you complete the share.

Thanks for replying needles, That was what I was trying to do, but when I right click on a drive, Sharing is not an option? What gives? I cannot for the life of me, find where to add a service to the existing set of services? MMC is confusing, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?

Do you have a NIC or the networking services set up in W2K??? What's your system configuration?

I currently have 2 nics installed, both setup for TCP/IP. I have 1 nic working fine for my cable connection, and the other one goes to my hub, but I cannot share any drives because when I right click on a drive to where I would normally click on sharing, there is nothing there. I went into the add/remove programs and clicked on the windows components button, but still no server service?? What am I missing?
