Maybe this is a stupid question, but I have never done this. Is there a way to add a domain to an existing domain? I have one domain and want to add a second one for a separate group of workers. There will be no need to have any trusts between the domains. Or, should I add a workgroup? Or, should I just add the computers to the existing domain and restrict access through shares and permissions?

I should say that I want a different domain admin that the one that is administering the present system. This system is in a different building and I have a few employees in the building that I want to have in a domain that I can administer and not the administrator in the building.

To add a domain requires a new server for a domain controller. You're probably best off to add them to your existing domain and just restrict what they can do. It will be the easiest thing to administer and have the fewest problems.

If you're using win2k, use the dcpromo command and add a child domain if you'd like...
