How do Computer Hackers fare out in Prison?

Just a debate I was having with a colleague. One side of me thinks they will pretty much be a prison bitch similar to order of a child molester etc. Another side is prisons will be impressed so much with their intelligence that you will be used to do complex things (encryption for prison msg, compound drugs, escape plans etc..)

I saw this article. I was more concerned with how other prisoners treat them. Do they become "prison bitches" or up there with murderers?

I feel like being repeatedly ass-raped with a blade at your throat is arguably a little worse than not being able to check reddit.

They'd probably go to white collar prison. Those tend not to be very violent, often described as country clubs. Low security, lots of privileges, lots of opportunities for education and training.

I suspect they are just "inmate number blablabla" and life is very mundane and generally unpleasant and uneventful.
