I order it Medium, so that it comes out between Medium Rare and Medium. I like alot of deep pink, but I am not a fan of deep purple.

They burned down the gambling house
It died with an awful sound
Funky claude was running in and out
Pulling kids out the ground
When it all was over
We had to find another place
But swiss time was running out
It seemed that we would lose the race
Smoke on the water, fire in the sky
:music:

Medium Rare FTW, anything over medium I no longer classify as steak.

When I used to eat a lot of red meat, I would eat it rare (bloody) or medium rare. Well done is nice every once in a while too (more smokey flavor). :)

But most of the time, one minute flashed on both side and it was done for me. Now I eat a lot less red meat, and I can't seem to enjoy steak as much as I used to although occassionally it is good stuff.

Depends on the place.

If I know it to be a really good restaurant then I will get rare, but 99% of the time I get medium rare.

It depends on the steak. Filet should be med-rare. Almost anything else should be medium to medium-rare to make sure the marbling can melt and add its delicous flavor.

I've gotten sick of places over cooking my steak when I order it medium rare so I've started ordering rare. I'd much rather it was under-done than over-done. I suppose most of the steaks cooked at home end up rare too.

most places, even though you tell them to cook it medium, they'll go ahead and do medium-well just to be on the safe side

McDonald's has steaks?
Most cooks are offended if you order their steak cooked over medium. They probably spit on it.

I love sushi. But prefer my steak medium rare. Anything less is too cold, anything more is burnt.
