How difficult is S and R to learn

I dont think that would be the right forum since S and R are actually programing languages used for analysis and not to make software.

Yes they are, they have their own compiler and such. They were created by bell labs for data analysis. This is all I know about them. I was thinking of taking a class which uses S and/or R, and what to know how hard is it to learn.
