How difficult is it to see out of tinted car windows at night?

So I'm moving down to North Carolina in July and it's going to be god awful hot for me. My car has black leather and I don't wanna suffer to heat as much and I don't want it to fade too quick on me either.

I was thinking about doing 35% black tints but was concerned how difficult was it to see out of tinted windows at night. Is it difficult to back out of parking garages at night with your back window tinted?

any tinting on the front half is completley illegal in most northern states. I would avoid tinting just to avoid trouble with the law when I travel.

Didn't have any trouble with 20% in NH when we had FL tags...as soon as we switched to NH plates, though..heh. Needless to say, no tint on the front anymore. Looks a little weird.. 🙁

yeah i know in MI front side windows cannot be tinted at all but i'll have NC plates when I move so having front side windows tinted is okay.

Does anyone else have their back window tinted and still see out okay at night?

depends on the shade as well. I have a dark charcoal, 5% (limo i think?) on the back, and yes backing up can be a pain at night, but I consider myself an attentive enough driver that it's not a safety concern.

Just make sure you check the laws there. Some places it's illegal to tint certain windows including the sides if in the front and other things like that.

Found some window tinting levels for the states. Not sure how updated or accurate they are though. It's best to ask the guy at the tint shop.

15% is almost completely black. Or do you mean 85%.
