How difficult is a 2000 piece jigsaw puzzle to put together?

Haven't done any since I was a kid but I've always enjoyed them. Many of them were just the 200-500 piece ones so I don't think I have ever tackled one in this amount of pieces. Is this something that'll prove too difficult and I'll just ditch half way? Its just a single sided puzzle of a night shot view of Vegas. I plan on hanging it if I ever get it done. Finished dimensions are 26" H x 38" W.

Puzzles frustrate the hell out of me, so I'd never be able to do a 500 piece one, let alone a 2000 piece one. It might be fun to do with a cute girl though.

Shouldn't be hard for anyone over the age of 6. 😛

Just takes time.

Start with the outside pieces...

Depends on the puzzle. Those with a lot of variation in the picture will be easy, those where most of the picture looks the same are tough. I've got a 1000 piece puzzle that's a glass of beer. It's a major bitch.

I used to do them for fun, if you're good at it you can do it in 4/5 hours depending what type of picture you're putting together.

heh, I looked at that one yesterday as I was buying a 2000 piece puzzle. I settled on Neuschwanstein castle instead.

This.

I don't think a night shot of Vegas would be TOO hard, because there's probably a lot of variety in the picture. The difficulty depends entirely on the picture. A picture of a calm ocean is going to be a bit frustrating to put together, because every piece will look the same. A picture with a lot of variety allows you to break the pieces up in to smaller sets.

Hey, I went there a couple times!

You sure he didn't accidentally have all the pieces wrong side up?

Dude I had that same puzzle added to my cart but remove it at the last moment cause I didn't want to buy 2 puzzles when I wasn't sure I'll be able to finish even one. Awesome scenery but looks to be a good challenge though.

depends on the image on the puzzle, but also the puzzle cut as well. some puzzles have pieces that are shaped in such ways as the be much more difficult.

So if it was a square or a rectangle you would want to find the 4 corner pieces first? Is that right?

I guess?

It doesn't matter what shape it is.

You could start from the center if you wanted I suppose, but identifying outside edge pieces is easy.

No, it was a blank. It was one of the custom ones you can take and get printed with your favorite painting or whatnot, he just left it blank.

My GF and I actually started doing puzzles over Christmas break when we were home together. Was a good time consumer 😛
