Unless I'm totally misreading his post, he was giving numbers for the Dow Jones, NASDAQ, and S&P and then comparing it to his OWN portfolio. In other words, he beat out all three of the market increases with his portfolio.

As for my own, what's a portfolio?

n/m

My biggest winner (bought @ $4).

What kind of comany is Force Protection Inc.? It sounds like it's run by Jedi.

Hm, maybe that's why it's up over 600% for the year. 😛

They produce Anti Mine and blast devices for vehicle's.

Brilliant Buy. How on earth did you find that?

Those are the kinds of stocks I like to look for!

In all honesty, when I first looked at FRPT (this is the chart I saw) I thought I was looking at a stock that was about to crash, but I realized it was in a high-tight flag formation instead, with a buypoint of $4.35. I bought a few shares @ $3.65, and once it hit $4.35 I loaded up. FRPT never closed below $4 again. I have flipped some shares since, but never sold out completely. 🙂

Can you explain that "high-tight flag formation" to me? I guess I am not to chart savy.

It's when a stock has already had a nice run up in price (100% or more very quickly) and starts trading in a tight "flag" (pennant) formation (correcting between 10% and 20% of the recent high), with volume drying up near the tip of the flag. HTF's are very rare formations and rarely fail after a successful breakout, with an average short term gain after breakout of ~70%.

Here's a better explanation.

5% 🙁
I was right to buy mostly US equities but the US dollar took a crap and I lost 13% of the return.

My speculative play on Tech and Oil (CAE) is up 15% in the last couple months. The company makes flight sims used for training pilots. The airline industry is coming out of bankrupcy and buying planes with more efficient use of fuel.
