Post pics of your setup!

Anyone try those wall mounts I believe 3M has? I saw a commercial for it the other day.. wonder if they would work.

Z-5300.

Right now its just cables laying all over the place. If I ever mount them to the wall I'll probably staple the cables in the corner of the ceiling.

My suitemate is gone for the weekend, but you might like his setup.

Here is a ghetto mspaint diagram.

Speaker 1 (S1) is on top of the TV, and speaker 2 is mounted near the top of the desk, aimed towards the loveseat, basically. Speakers 4 and 5 are mounted a bit above the loveseat, aimed down and towards the middle of the room. He used rca extension cables to get them to reach back there.

I'm using Logitech X-530's...center speaker is under the LCD angled up, front right/left are to the sides of the LCD, and the rear speakers are mounted to the back wall (flipping the speaker stands around).

Here's my setup with my klipsch 5.1 ultras. The rear left speaker is on a file cabinet which also holds the rear right speaker for my home theater. The rear right speaker is on top of a box on top of the subwoofer. Kind of ghetto, but it works great.

Good... airsoft I presume?

I want to get a real one when I turn 18 though. :p

Anyway... how are the speakers? I'm thinking of getting the 2.1 version of that.

lol no, not airsoft.

The speakers are pretty good. I previously had the logitech z-560's. I think it was too much money to upgrade, they are good but they are not $300 better then the 560's. However if you have crap speakers to begin with then they are great.

I wouldn't reccomend getting the 2.1's, really. Not that there is anything wrong with them, but I got the 5.1's for surround sound. If I didn't have surround sound, I'd use headphones.

oh yeah, assuming you live in the United States, you can't buy a handgun until you're 21. You can buy rifles at 18 though. The USP goes for around $750.

Bah... 21... NOOOOO!!!!! Yeah I looked at the prices... and I'm willing to dish out 750... what's better, 9mm, 40, or .45? What do you have?

The problem with surround for me is that I have nowhere to set it up.

I don't see how people could have those huge computers on their desk instead of on the floor. I mean, I guess if you don't have any room on the floor, it's reasonable. But I always find myself needing more deskspace. Nice speakers by the way.

Helps keep the dust out if you keep it off the floor too.

What kind of speakers are they, QuantumPion? My random guess: Athenas?

Sweet :)

I know they're popular and a good deal... and the color looked about right.

Those are obviously Athena AS-B1s : )

Athenas have a very recognizable profile. (Mainly, the sheer volume of the cabinent, which is why they have such good bass response). Also, they have very high quality speaker grills. I think those grills are better than most of the lame grills at $300-500 bookshelves.

yup, I got them for a steal too when they were being cleared out for the newer model at BB. I got clearance discount, floor discount, and an extra 30% discount on top of that. I got the whole $1500 system for like $600. :D
