Chose got it through another referral...not sure if that was the right one. I got mine through a temp agency. was hired on after 90 days, and got promoted five months after that to be in the position i am in right now.

i signed up for a 1 hour campus interview, which lead to
a day of interviews, which lead to a job offer.

Sent resume, responding to online ad. Interviewed, interviewed again, did a simulation and yet another interview/debriefing after the simulation and was presented a written offer later that day.

I begged.

I sent an unsolicted email with my resume and references. Got called in for an interview that same day. There was no actual opening, and I was told that I was overqualified, but I made it clear that overqualified doesn't feed my kids and I was willing to do whatever I had to do to be able to feed them. Two interviews later, I had a job, and have been promoted three times in the 15 months since.

I bet at most companies 3/4's of hires come from a referral. It's the best way to get a job for sure.

Never had a regular 8-5 type job, had a supervisor, or otherwise had to do anything except what I decided needed to be done.

Though it'd be hard to call the things I do a "job," really. Every day's a little different; most days I just get up when I feel like waking up (don't use an alarm clock unless I'm taking an early morning flight somewhere) and do whatever I decide to do that day.

one of my two bosses is my sister's boyfriend.

back in October, when my frustration with my last job reached its peak, I was complaining to her about how much I hated my job. It just so happens that her boyfriend was firing someone that same week, so she got him to set me up with an interview with him and my other boss.

Referal. A coworker of mine left to another company, a year later my company laid everyone off, and my buddy brought me onboard right away.

Knowing some one is the best way to get a job.

friend called me up and said their lead net engineer found another job and they needed somebody ASAP.

He hand carried my resume to the hiring manager and pumped me up to all the directors. I was offered two weeks after my rounds of interviewed, another week of negotiating. been here for 6 years now.

None of the above but I selected "Responded to an ad" b/c it best fit my situation. I responded to an ad for a contract consulting firm by going to there meeting at a hotel in order to get free food basically, three months later they contacted me and had me working within a week, the company they had me working for bought me from them six months after I started.

Very unique situation as most contract agencies (especially the one I was working for) do not allow their employees to work for the places their doing contract work at for a period of 5 years after completion/termination of the consulting work.

Other: I was a consultant in an intent-to-hire position here, which I got through the school I went to at night for programming. It was kind of interesting in that I quit a salaried position and received a $7/hour stipend to attend a Java/XML bootcamp for a couple of months after which I sat at home praying for a interview/placement. It all worked out in the end, but it was a bit crazy when I was hoping to be converted to full-time while the company was laying people off. I had the advantage of being cheap I guess. Well, cheaper anyway.

While in the Air Force, I participated in an internship program (similar to Education with Industry for those that have heard of it). Got out of the AF a year later and got a job through Monster. A few years after that, some people I worked with from that internship offered me this opportunity.
