i dont remember how i got to atot.

i *think* i found anandtech when i read an article that anand made $1m from anandtech.com back ~2000. i came for the tech articles and hot deals.

when mods stopped allowing coupon codes, i jumped to chubbywallet, but still came to anandtech.com for the articles and post hardware questions.

but for the life of me i cant remember how i came to atot. (i've never went to chubby wallets off topic forum.)

what brought you to atot?

I don't remember. I imagine it was a Google question, and I found the answer here. I liked the people and the layout so I stayed. I've spent most of my time in the technical forums, and only came to OT this year.

Had an incredibly boring summer internship where I spent all of my time researching hardware for my upcoming computer build. I ended up at AT for some hardware reviews, started browsing the forums for user opinions. While I was in the forums I took a wrong turn somewhere and landed in ATOT.

When the hardware wars come to an end in general hardware. Back in 2000 everyone wore their platform and OS preference like a badge of honor.

Probably a google search. Most of my firsts post where on the video card section...ah that reminds me of Rollo and the arguments regarding the merits of nvidia vs. ati. Having gotten over video cards, I moved on to ATOT where I spend most of my time now.

I found Anandtech in the summer of.... the Radeon 64mb. I read the review and I was thoroughly impressed by the extremely detailed reviews. They used to bench 640x480 in UT up to 1600x1200. You could see the Voodoo 3 rule the low res and then GF2 and Radeons take over at high res. Radeons excelled @ 32-bit color too. Haha, anyway.... a few months later I decided to build my computer and I needed help here and there so I decided to try AT forums. Really didn't post much at all and didn't hit up OT till summer of '05. All hell went lose. I spent most of college going from 8k posts to about 9k posts. Then it took off again once I got a job last year.

Regular reader of Anandtech.com, checked out the forums, happened to click on Off Topic, saw funny threads, stayed for the lulz.

Honestly wanted to learn about computers in high school -> Googled, came across anantech -> tried reading articles with shitloads of terminology I'd never heard before -> thought "shit this place is hardcore" -> saw "forums" link -> found OT -> *facepalm*
