How did you find a short term job and/or career after colllege?

I worked retail for about 8 months after I graduated. I don't recommend that if you can help it.

USN and USAF were bidding for my services in my junior year of college.

USN would not guarentee Naval Aviation or Subs.
USAF would put me directly with fighters.

Guess which I ended up with?

My advisor heard of an opening at a firm near my campus so he forwarded my resume to them. I was called up shortly thereafter for an interview. I started part time with the understanding I would be made full time upon graduation.

The moral of the story? Impress the right people.
