basically i lost that whole "everyone is generally good until proven otherwise" idea. Now it's "guilty until proven innocent". It's sad how bitter and jaded I've become since freshman year.![]()

I realized that everybody is pretty competitive, there werent any more dumbasses like in high school to make you feel smart.
Everybody is just as smart, just as competitive as you are.

I've lost a lot of innocence. I've become more social, but I've also built a sort of filter around myself, so I can take more abuse/criticism/etc. in my academics. For me, college has been about learning my strengths and weaknesses, and I usually come out stronger rather than weaker.
My writing has become much much stronger, and I'm more able to express myself verbally too. Whereas in high school I was much more approachable, I think I've become much more sincere rather than open to everyone. I may be a bit difficult to get to know, but once people break through to what I'm really like, I think they really appreciate me for what I've become in college.
I'm also much more politically opinionated, but that's what I get for coming to one of the most left-aligned schools in the nation!![]()

My life went to hell when I got to unviersity. It's all down hill from here, Deslocke. The only thing that gives me pleasure these days is the bottom of a bottle.

I entered University as a virgin and left as a virgin.
Now I'm 40 years old and I think I might be shrinking in height a little, I've gotten fatter and I get diarrea more often.
Oh, and I'm still a virgin.

Basically college teaches you to live and think on your own. Not having parents around, most people go crazy and party every night at the beginning until they eventually wizen up and get their priorities straightened out.
stuff that you learn in college:
- how to live with a roommate.
- having the ability to go outside of your comfort zone to meet new people
- sleeping becomes a whole lot more important =)
- not all people are inherently good.
- the only way to get an A is to actually put in the time for it
