back in the day.......

reel.com and 800.com!

got CRAZY good deals from them!!!!

i have about 140 dvd's. i use dvdprofiler to organize them..

i also got a barcode scanner (which i borrowed from work) so i can instantly scan in the DVD and have it add to my database instead of inputing by hand.

if anyone wants to borrow the scanner, lmk. all you have to do is pay for shipping and give me a heatware. and anything else u want to add to the deal would be just a bonus for me :)

Columbia House is good if you follow the instructions exactly as they tell you on DVDTalk.

Other then that, just a movie here a movie there. FS/FT, Blockbuster, gifts from people etc.

Back a few years ago when the whole dot com thing was good, I got over 50-60 movies totally free from using coupons and gift certificates through Amazon.com, Reel.com and CDnow.com. I used to get a free DVD a week through earning Amazon.com gift certificates from www.jaboom.com and freeride.com.

I've got around 200 DVDs now...

Wow, I didn't think I'd hear those two venerable words anywhere - Jaboom and Freeride... Memories...

You can still pickup a FREE CueCat barcode scanner (hackable with software) at Radio Shack B&M, most of them are probably out of stock but a few of them still have some left. Visited a Radio Shack yesterday to look at some watch batteries, while I was there I picked up TWO FREE CueCat barcode scanners, all I had to do was ask for them.

Informative thread.

My collection now stands at 10 and I've spent $132.26 on them, including shipping...not too bad. 3 from bestbuy.com, 3 from half.com, 2 from buy.com, and 2 from overstock.com.

DVDPriceSearch is just what I was looking for. And DVDTalk Forums:  there's just so much there to dig through.

I used to belong to CH and BMG music clubs in the early 90s. They were OK for some of the intro deals (8 CDs for 1, buy 2 at full price) but I didn't like the automatic shipment part.

DVDTalk and DVDPriceSearch have a wealth of knowledge, you can spend hours combing through the info and Hot Deals.

Make sure to visit your local Radio Shack to see if they have any FREE CueCat barcode scanners left, then sign up for DVDProfiler.com so you can scan your DVD collection into their database.
