blinderbomber... I hated my old nick that I used on AIM and decided it was time for a change. Took my last name, blinder, and stuck something that rhymed, bomber on the end.. I sorta realize now, because some people have said it that they thought I was trying to imitate the unibomber, oh well. Also a 'blinder' was a nickname for Russian bombers during the cold war :)

When I first joined this big club called "the Internet" I was using AOHELL and wanted to use Brutus (my dogs name) and Kendall (my last name) but they would only let me use 10 letters. Hence Brutuskend. And since I suffer from short term memory loss and didn't want to have to remember something else (since my brain is full, and everytime I learn something NEW I forget something that I once knew) I have stuck with it all these many years.

BTW: What was the question again? HOW did I get HERE?

<-- Being a big fan of the Dune book series, I decided to use a term from the book, kindjal = knife -- kinda strange, I know.

Well, the painting room in my high school's shop happened to be poorly ventilated. I was in there with some of my friends staining pieces of wood for a sled project we were doing. The fumes must have gotten to me because I suddenly blurted out that my name was "DeRusto" after seeing the can of DeRusto paint on the shelf. Of course, this paint's name is probably pronounced Dee-Rust-oh, but..being high, I pronounced it Day-Roost-oh. I dunno, it just kinda stuck:)

I like a great cup of coffee, so when I drink or taste bad coffee I like to say where did the fake coffee come from. So then I would say where is the realcoffee.

When I first got this 'nick' (7th grade or so, going into my junior year of college) I offered $50 to anyone who could figure it out, for a reason. I would be amazed if anyone could track it down now, but the reward is still good.

Considering how hooked I got on anime though, most people just assume it comes from there these days. The fact I named my DAOC character Ebichu doesn't help ;)

Actually, it came from paintball. After wiping out the entire enemy team of 16 singlehandedly, I started getting "bought" into matches. Friendly matches, team games, or just someone who'd been talking too much s**t and needed a bit of real backup. :)

A man on a flaming pie appeared to me in a vision and said "From this day forward, you are mpitts".

I stole that from John Lennon.. It's actually:

the one girl wrote in my book "eakers! you are the cutest girl ive ever met"

ack in the day when i first signed up for AOL in 5th grade or so, i had just finished watching frosty the snowman. well i typed in frosty as a screen name, and it was taken but came up with the option to use frosty3709, so i did. well when i got rid of aol later on, i went to sign up for an instant messenger screenname, but since i had just dropped aol, i couldnt use frosty3709, so i went with frosty3799.

and, 8-10 odd years later, i still have it

Sean Connery starred in a '70's sci-fi movie "Zardoz". His character's name was Zed. I was really impressed with his role since he was trying to break away from his James Bond stereotype.

I am Tom. Zedtom...my alter ego!
