How did pro-life vs abortion rights become a conservative vs liberal thing?

It comes down to whether you believe a woman has a constitutional right to control her own body, or whether you think the gub'mint can control what a woman does with her own body and her own organs.

Libruuls, who can't get enough of murdered babies, believe that a woman should be able to control what is going on with her own body. Because as Rush Limbaugh has screamed on multiple occasions, libruuls hate babies and want to see them all murdered. Probably to prevent Christ's return, because libruuls are also big-time Mooselman terrorist supporters.

Conservatives, on the other hand, as a cartoon portrayed earlier, are all about innocent babies being born. Of course, once that baby is born, then the mom better not be a god damn moocher on food stamps and section 8 housing. And if that fucking bitch wants food stamps, then she better find a good hole to drop that fucking baby in while she goes out and does some odd job for very little pay. Because conservatives love innocent children.

Yessiree, they are the same ones pushing for more government control in many other ways too. I will never forget what they did to Terri Schiavo's family taking the husbands right to choose away instead forcing the state's will upon them.

Republicans love to talk about wanting smaller government yet each time more surveillance over the people comes up they will push it in the name of freedom and safety lest we forget W's Patriot Act which was one of the biggest power grabs ever yet the right praises it as necessary. Remember this the next time you're at the airport and the blue gropers have you spread eagle.

Strange how conservatives don't want anyone telling them what to do with their bodies while they continue to tell you what to do with yours. My parents subscribe to their rhetoric and no amount of truth or evidence is enough to lift them out of it because their confirmation biases are so strong that they have no desire to overcome them at all.

Oh there’s been worse than Terry Schiavo in my opinion.

There was the hospital down here who thought the laws regarding the unborn required them to keep the dead body of a pregnant woman on life support against her stated wishes and the wishes of her husband so her brain dead baby had a chance of being born in some sort of Frankenstein horror show. Oh and they were charging the husband to keep his dead wife in life support against their wishes.

A court case finally allowed them to pull the plug. Just imagine the state keeping your dead wife alive to use as an incubator against you and your dead wife’s wishes. That’s some pro-life small government conservatism there.

Make the argument that the right to choice outweighs the right to life. It undermines the discussion to dismiss a fetus as a parasite. That is just intellectually dishonest.

You realize those laws that charge the murder of a pregnant woman as two murders were passed by anti abortion people for the express purpose of trying to make a fetus more like a person, right?

I find equating a first trimester fetus to a human being to be intellectually dishonest.

People who miscarry are mourning the anticipation and hope of something. When my wife had a miscarriage at 14 weeks, none of our extremely pro-life family or friends acted at all like we had just lost a child. My pro-choice mother was the only person that even kind of acted like it was a loss of a person as opposed to a disappointing event.

Most companies don't even offer bereavement for miscarriages.

Seeing how people actually felt about miscarriages caused my wife who was slightly pro-life before to break hard pro-choice.

What about them? I don't think non-viable living humans should be kept alive, especially not against the wishes of their family.

Life support is completely different, for one you aren't forcing another human's body to provide the life support.
