How did I do with cabling?

Damn! Now.... what fan were you using on it? 🙂

I use a ADDA fan....sorry you won't find this fan....but you can put a Nexus on it for an additional 13$ or choose from the Panaflo's which would probably better suit you since you will be oc'ing. Check out the link I posted and scroll to the bottem to see additional fans. I would probably go w/ this> http://www.jab-tech.com/customer/product.php?productid=2686&cat=81&page=1
in your situation.

Actually.... I'm still how to overclock, not really sure how to overclock atm. Still trying to learn it, the guides online are crap from what I've seen. They are just short and to the point, don't know when I'm going to learn 🙁 Anyway, I'll still go with that fan. I have another question though... in the P180 the fan near the HDD's does that have to be a thinner fan? Or can it be a standard size fan. Does it fit? And what size goes there? Is it 80 or 120mm?I want to know how I'm going to set things up as airflow so I can just go to work when I get it. I want the best aircooling possible 😀 Thanks a bunch

Edit:
Is there any Nexus fan with Leds? I was thinking about going with a P180 with a window. Need to 'fancy' up the insides.

Experimenting is the best possible way!!!
Whats works for some might not work for you!!
Even if you have the same exact setup!!
Good Luck!!🙂

Depending on your components and room temps, different fan configurations yield different results. I will tell you what got me the best temp/noise ratios. I axed the duct. Rear exhaust 120x25 tricool 7V'd and set on med which gives me approx 1000 rpm. Front upper chamber 120x25 intake ADDA fan @ 900rpm controlled w/ SpeedFan. Top vent blocked. Bottem chamber CM fan w/ resistor @ 900rpm. HSF 120x25 ADDA @ 900rpm controlled w/ SpeedFan. I know its a PITA, but try ALL the possible fan config's and see what suits you best. Many peoples are getting good results with the top fan blowing in.
This ^^ was in a previous post of mine. Its what I came up with after about a week of messing around with different setups. The fan that comes stock in the bottem chamber is a 120mmx38mm, but IMO all the tricools are too noisy (especially the 120x38), even at the low settings. I only use one of them and it is 7 Volted. The fan I use for the bottem chamber is a 120mmx25mm. Saves a little room for the psu wires. As far as oc'ing >> http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=28&threadid=1497607&enterthread=y
G-Luck!

There is something close, but not as quiet >http://tekgems.com/Products/et-13714-fan-d12sm-12.htm

Young Padiwan is learning quickly 😉

ADDA? As far as fans... I'll be getting 2 of these for the rear and top mounts. Still have questions though 😛
As far as the 120x25mm in the bottom chamber, what are you using and is it quiet?
Do you have a fan on the mount near the HDD's?
What fan controller are you using?
Thanks for your patience with all my questions JB, appreciate it alot. 🙂

Edit: I'll be getting this for the XP-120

Excellent choice for the top fans. I use this in the bottem chamber at the moment> http://www.jab-tech.com/customer/product.php?productid=2594&cat=81&page=1
and attached a resistor to it to slow the rpm's down to around 900. It is extremely quiet at this rpm, but pushes little air. Enough for me though. At full tilt it is a very quiet fan, but not silent. My HD is in the bottem chamber with the central mounted 120x25. I do have an intake in the upper chamber in front of the HD cage. I use SpeedFan to control 3 of my fans: HSF, intake, and NV5 gpu cooler. Never too many questions 😉 I have 4 Nexus in route from UPS. Looking forward to more silent testing.

Didn't answer my first question 😛 What did you mean by ADDA? And if I get a fan controller I want it to control all my fans, not sure if that's possible with as many fans I'm going to have. Never really dealt with fans and the accessories 🙂 Can I get a link to your fan controller? I actually have a Zalman VF7000 in a UPS truck somewhere right now. Ordered last night for my 6800GT 😀 Btw, I'll use that fan in the bottom chamber if you say it's good. It has an LED too.... yay?

ADDA >http://www.adda.com.tw/index1.htm
Mouser.com is the only place I know of to get these. As far as fan controllers go there are sooo many to choose from. Scroll around on this forum and see what people use/like. Or even post a new topic and see what kind of replies you get. I use SpeedFan which is a free software program that monitors temps, voltages, fan speeds, etc... and controls fan speeds via PWM (pulse width modulation). Some others here have used that fan (coolermaster) and like it as well. The VF700 is a nice gpu cooler. Enjoy your rig!

What fan are you using there? And did you take the whole top HD cage out?

Edit:
Would a Fan Controller that fits in a 5.25" drive bay work with the P180? Would the cover shut on it? jw.

An ADDA fan @ 900rpm. The cage is still installed minus the HD slides/racks. A 5.25 fan controller will work just fine, I would just make sure the knobs are not too tall/long.... like say taller/longer than.... 3/4"-1" inch. Might want to look at this >http://www.endpcnoise.com/cgi-bin/e/antivibration.html
I ordered this with the 4 nexus's.

Yeah, I was asking because of the knobs being too big. Only $17 for that kit, pretty decent. I would probably take out the top HD cage and put my 2 HD's in the lower chamber. Are you changing the ADDA fan with a nexus fan you ordered? Or is that for something else 😉

I am going to replace it and see how the noise is and temps. Whatever is best I will use that.

Dynamix did an amazing job with his cabling. Just have to give it to him, experience+time+a little frustration = job well done. 10/10

oops I completely forgot about this thread 🙂

Anyway, yeah I did what I could with the cables I had. What bugs me the most is the audigy 2 ribbon cable. And the coolermaster dynamix is using is already presleeved right? I'm not sure if I'm to the task of sleeving my psu. Otherwise I really can't do much about psu cables. The cables are short enough as it is (the seasonics are not a good choice for the p180) so I can't hide em. Maybe sometime next year I replace the psu with sleeved long cables. Also, I would have loved to route the other power cable underneath the board but that was something I thought after almost everything was installed (not that it would have been long enough anyway)

JBDan: Out of curiosity, what temps do you see with your case? This is what I'm seeing...

CPU: Idle 42C; load never above 50 (during a warm day like today). Cool and Quiet seems to make 0 difference
Mobo: Idle 46: I've never had a system with mobo temps that high but the cooling around the board isn't obviously as good as it is with the cpu. I have a fan on the front as well but with all the cables in the way makes it ineffective
Vid Card (6800GT): Always pretty high. Around 66C idle but it's relying only it's own cooling.

I have a Seasonic in a P180 with an ASUS AN8-SLI Premium and the four pin cable is TOO short but it can be made to work. There have been a number of requests for a source for cable extenders but they don't seem to exist. As for noise, I got an Aquagate Mini R120 water cooler kit and could not be happier with it. I can't hear it running two feet away!
