How did he get this past the license plate filters?

On my way home from work yesterday, the car in the next lane had this license plate:

GTFOOMW

I bet even he was surprised they issued it.
 
Unless you're knowledgeable of acronyms that just looks like a bunch of random letters.

Which makes you wonder if you could get DHITB or other stuff through.

Yeah and Cincinnati uses license plate camera's: If you have a warrant - Stolen car - stolen plates - or whatever this new camera system is seeking it all.

I occasionally drive by someone on the way home from work with the tag STFU&DRV. Not sure how that one got by. I've been trying to get pics of it. It's in Apex NC.

I've seen "&" on Virginia plates. PA does not allow it but some other states do.

There was a bimmer that had that at an autocross. I wish I had time to get a pic. HAX0R was also another.

which would be illegal in TX, but I guess it would only be illegal if you were caught...

I would think it doesnt save you. They'll probably just run a huge list of all similar plates in the system and just use your car model to figure it out.
Those cameras dont take a pic of JUST the plate, they usually get enough of the car to help ID it.
