I saw him live a few years back, the show where he flew across the stage for awhile and put himself into a plastic tank and flew around there...

One ot the machines holding him up musta be broken, cause it sure as hell was making alot of noise... Wasnt to hard to figure out what he was doing when whenever he moved you heard the grinding of a machine... :)

He doesn't. It's just the angle of viewing him. He actually just stands on his toes on one foot. Then, they re-shot the shot again after getting the audience to a stage where he's hooked up to wires. Thus, you see the wire lift up, then you see the faces from the folks watching on the street. Camera and editing tricks really.

I also loved watching Lance Burton (who is better, in my opnion)

There are some sites on the internet that show more than one way to do that trick. It basically has to do with line of sight.
