How did/are you pay for college?

I managed to get a full ride my first two semesters. Being my unstudious self I managed to ruin it all by not maintaining the required GPA. Now i've taken a student loan and my mother is helping with rent.

I took out a loan for the first term..
and i am current using co-op pay to pay for the other terms.

I spent months at the library pouring over books which listed how and where to apply for any and all pell grants and scholarships available. My favorite was a $500 scholarship because I'm like 1/32th native american indian (isn't everyone?), that was the easiest $500 I ever spent.

It was a lot of work, it wasn't easy but I received several thousands of dollars in interest free money for my research and efforts.

I'm a full time student and I get student loans. I live in a nice apartment and drive a nice car which all take money. I think younger adults today are wimps!!! Get out and work and go to school. The Japenese kids do it!!! : )

Personally, I worked a lot. I had an easy job that allowed for me to study. Then, I got a second job doing part time DJ work. I wasn't the guy with the latest toys and so forth, but I managed to get out of school with no student loans.

My parents let me live in their house for 2 years, also. This gave me plenty of time to save for the last two years and be able to afford an apartment.

Parents + Loan

Parents paid £1,000 tuition fees, £2,000 accommodation, £800 food per year

I also owe £9,000 to the student loans company 🙁

Loans/jobs.

Can you guys image Anand's reply?

Umm, yea. I made a website in my spare time and now I'm raking in the dough. The only reason I go to college are those co-eds.

🙂 It is quite possible Anand would have made a different reply.

active duty air force, paid 75% of my tuituon and a pell grant which more than covered the remaining 25% and books. I acutally made money going to school.

Over 80% is paid by scholarship and the remaining by finanical aid🙂 Nothing out of my pocket except books :Q

I'm so thankful that my dad bought some intel stock when it was really cheap. I got my college paid for by intel. I pay for food and everyday expenses, intel pays for tuition, rent, and books. If it weren't for that I would be working my ass off and getting lots of loans. I know so many people that do absolutely nothing and their parents pay for EVERYTHING. I know two people who drive bmw m3's and they are only sophmores in college (never worked at a job a day in their life). They go out to eat everyday and use their parents credit card. I KNOW i have it good I understand that. But at least I don't take advantage of my parents and eat out everyday, go shopping on the weekends and basically waste money. The worst of it is that they are doing horrible in school, a few of them are on the verge of getting kicked out for having such bad grades.

2002 I will go to University.

My parents will pay for the tuition fee of about £1080 ish here in England. They will pay for accomodation and food. And everything else that is neccessary for my education. My parents have had a hard life and know they didn't get a good education in Cambodia. So they want me to do well and I am going to do well. So they want me to live a life that they didn't have a chance.

I'll also get a student loan and work a few hrs a week. I am not going to piss up my loan as I don't drink much if at all thus saving HUGE amounts of money🙂

30% from scholarships
20% from parents
50% by me from student loans and working while in school

<< I am not going to piss up my loan as I don't drink much if at all >>

That all changes when you go to uni though. 😉
