some history books indicate fever, while the movie suggest that his men poisoned him....

does anyone really know?

why? Khan would have killed him in battle but then he had over a millenia head-start

some type of fever or infection. but the legend is that he died of a broken heart, after his lifelong friend and lover was killed.
