I know guys that use like 3 different facial products to clean face....special shampoos and conditioners....2 types of hair products....body sprays....lotions for dry skin.....deodorant.....colognes....pre-shave washes… and aftershave balm.....regular soap and nice smelling shower gels....nose and ears shavers....body shavers to trim certain areas... and the list goes on...

Almost any hole and body part these days can be taken care of with plenty of different product choices.

So lets say you are a young fellow back in the 50's...40's...earlier...what would you do to get ready for a special date with your gf?

1) lifebuoy soap for face and body parts

2) regular shampoo (no conditioner)

3) hair grease

4) regular shave blade with regular shaving soap

5) old spice aftershave

6) underarm deodorant? hmm....

And that is it? Hairy bodies (back and all) left as is?

I wonder......what you guys think?

I took mosh's advice many years ago. Smell nice and don't dress like a bum. Happily married for 6 years now, thanks mosh! :)

You left out the Lucky Strikes or Camel Straights. A clean pair of jeans and a white Tee shirt and you were good to go.

My dad did the "greaser" thing back in the 50's. I have some photos of him like that around here somewhere.

Well two of them have what you call high maintenance women. I guess their women talked them in using all those things.

Speaking for myself, one younger woman (early 20's) had me shave some of my body hair off and trim certain areas to her liking. She even wanted me to get pedicures and manicures. By the way, you would not believe the amount of men getting those as well. True story!! haha!

Some women do not care (older women mainly) but the younger girls seems to be more concerned about their man looking more meterosexual I guess.

You guys notice any difference in the age gap?

By the way, I do not date women under the age of 30:D personal choice these days for me:)

Funny you should mention this. I can't remember what program I was watching, but it was one of those makeover shows where they come into your home and go through your wardrobe and personal products. Anyway, this one guy on the show got blasted by the fashion consultant for having what he felt was too many facial products in his bathroom. The fashion consultant was saying "Only gay guys use 3 different facial products to clean their face, and I'd hide those products if you ever have a woman come by to visit, as they'll likely think you are gay". It made me laugh. Then again, I only use a mild bar soap on my skin and a moisturizer after I shower, so there is no danger of people thinking I am gay. haha

Old spice, lol. That and that really musky smelling one..they both remind me of my grandfather on his horse ranch. (When they had big bbq's and all the neighbors were over getting hammered under the oak tree. Whiskey and Coors with the two hole punch tops as far as you could see.) Of course that was the early 70's not the 50's.
