How crazy would I be...

Well, I did it... green... it's being delivered tomorrow morning. I'll try to get some pics up before work for all the motorcycle nuts on here. 🙂

Pretty much... he said they had at least one of every color on the lot, so they obviously had stock sitting there that they needed to move. I'm hoping there's a couple more good weather days here before winter sets in so I get a chance to ride it before next spring.

Nice bike but the color hurts my eyes 🙁

My wife is wanting to upgrade our old Nighthawk 250 and I tried to get her to look at those, but she doesn't like sport bikes. Oh well.

Shave that rear off and integrate ASAP!

Like so.

You made a very good purchase at that price, congratulations - you will definately enjoy the ZX6. Before I had my mean green retardedly overpowered 10 I was scooting around in this.

Have fun, ALWAYS wear at least a jacket, gloves, boots, and a helmet, and be safe. =)

Great deal! That's over $2k off the MSRP. You got the best color too. Ninja should be green. When I think of Ninja, green always comes to mind. Love the color.

Ride safe. These bikes are basically superbikes.

What about steering her toward a 696 Ducati Monster or a Kawi Versey or Suzuki's new Gladius ?

Anyways WTF OP you freaking got a steal of a bargin there. Are you going to slap on some frame sliders?

I hadn't planned on it. I know nobody ever plans on dropping their bike, but I'm just not worried about it. If I lay the bike down while riding, the plastics are the last thing I'm going to be worried about. I might eventually get them... before my first track day.

K.....Well have fun on your first track day. You know what they say about your first track day right?......."Once you go track you always want to go back." 🙂

I recently came upon a very similar deal on a 2008 6R as well. With the economy like it is, I'd bet bike sales are way down. Coupled with the 09s arriving soon, good deals are to be had for sure! I couldn't pass up a good deal, considering the MSRP on the 600 class is creeping up to $10k for the 09s. I remember barely paying over that last year for my 2008 R1. After my R1 was recently stolen from a public mall in the middle of broad daylight, I couldn't justify spending $10k on a bike again.

In college, I had a 2004 6R with the beloved 636 engine. The 636 bikes had a cult-like following they were such an awesome machine. I have to say I love my 08 even more and I've barely put 400 miles on her.

Chop that fender like it's hot

Another shot

Blue is my favorite color. Sorry guys.

I just picked up some riding gear. A Rocket nylon jacket with Kawasaki logo... green, white and black. Got a nice pair of Icon gloves with some beefy knuckle protection. And an Icon helmet at 30% off. I decided to hold off on boots for now while I decide if I want to get more of a shoe style boot or something that goes higher up the calf and will be suitable for track days as well. Haven't decided on any kind of pants either, but I definitely want to get some eventually.

You'll quickly find out that it's all an addiction. Between track days, buying aftermarket parts, and gear. More addictive than drugs. 😀

It sounds like you were able to grab some good deals. Do you have a Cycle Gear or something similar in your area with a good selection of gear to try on? Having a B&M to try gear on is awesome. I've had gear in the past that didn't fit well and that sucks. I'm a tight-wad normally but gear is where I spend the $$. I have a Shoei RF-1000 for my primary and a Shoei RF-900 for backup (passengers). My leathers and 12" boots are all Dainese from Cycle Gear.

There's a good size dealership with a good selection about 10 miles away from me. That's where I bought the bike and gear (pics added to my Picasa album linked in the OP) - was able to try everything on before purchasing. I plan on spending a lot of time around there next summer since I hear a couple employees there have connections at local tracks.

The track is great fun 🙂

Here is my 03 ZX-6RR at Jennings during my first trackday almost two years ago. I still remember it, pretty much the most fun you can ever have.

Track Day

I am envious! I am shopping ZX6R's and you got a heck of deal. Since I work for GM, I have put the idea of getting a bike on hold until I see what the future holds.

So I took the bike out for the first time today... well, technically yesterday (Tuesday). I don't have my license yet, just a permit so I stayed in my neighborhood and kept it below 25. Got a feel for the clutch and brakes. The MSF course will definitely benefit me (not that that was ever in question), I just had to get on it at least once before winter... it's going to be a blast come spring. 🙂 I'm hoping to get another day or two of riding in, hopefully with a friend that's licensed so I can do it legally this time. 😀
