My sister graduated a couple years ago and is making tons of money as a pharmacist. The government is not responsible for shaping the lives of every individual. Going to college does not guarantee income. In a free economy it's up to the individual to go into the field where they can make the most income.
Again, in a free economy, people are free to pursue any product they want. Unless Bush had the Secret Service executing people who worked on alternative energy, he's not stopping anybody from doing so. Debunking the myth that GM yanked some utopian electric vehicle is fodder for another thread.
Elections were crooked before Bush came into office. Just because you don't like the guy that won by a slim margin this time doesn't mean it's Bush's fault.
Again, how is what congress does related to the president? Separation of powers mean anything to you? I'm not sure what you mean by "ethics" exactly, but congress has been crooked for a long time. It's unfair to pin that on Bush.
As bad a president as Bush might be, some people are so desparate for a scapegoat right now that everything is Bush's fault in their mind. That's just as bad as the fools like Zendari to whom Bush can do no wrong.

Not everything is under Bush's control, but he has botched to one extent or another pretty much every issue that is.

Deficit Spending
Medicare drug benefit (totally off on the cost of the program)

I disagree. While there have been a few gems like Rome or 24, the massive proliferation of reality TV (and its general influence on other shows) has caused the overall quality to plummet.

I simply had much, much higher expectations of a President who admits he seeks, and receives, the counsel of 'God' on issues such as Iraq.
Either 'God' is an incompetent imbecile or Bush is delusional. Neither option is very comforting.

I'm right there with you... although the angry, vengeful god option sounds somewhat entertaining.
Bush started an unnecessary war.
Really nothing else needs to be stated or pointed out (although it easily could be).
Wage growth is stagnant. GDP growth doesn't fill the gas tank. In reality, the opposite has been true. Rising health care and energy costs are really putting a hit on the middle class.

Sorry, but you are wrong in every account there... the president can introduce and push for legislation.. his party controls congress!
As for the economy, the same old stupid argument... You know some people doing well, so everythign is all great! Well, I'm doing well and know some friends doing well.. so what! MOST people who already had jobs are making less year over year... that's the point...
Our voting system is a major problem for the reasons I pointed to.. it has nothing to do with Bush, so it is laughable that you try to make it something personal that I have against him... I gave valid reasons why the system needs reform, yet Bush's administration just don't care.. I count that as a strike against him... Try addressing the actual points...

Did you watch the presidential debates? If you promise something and do not deliver, then we have every right to hold that person responsible for their lies... introduce legislation... theres a starter!
As for oil, Bush's windfall profits to oil companies(encouraging their behind the scenes gouging) and his push for the Iraq war are the primary reasons for oil continuing to rise... The Iraq war has completely destabalized the region even worse than before, affecting oil prices... If you do not see this as the Bush administration's fault, you are more lenient than some.. I hold them accountable where I see fit... that is simply a matter of opinion..whether you hold them responsible or not..

Every president can ask for legislation, whether their party is in the majority or not. If things aren't getting done, it's still congress who is to blame. They don't actually have to wait for him to ask before doing something you know. :roll:
How is that a stupid argument? You said "Talk to real people and see how new college graduates are doing" so I pointed out a recent graudate that's doing great. This means your statement was false. If you had said that people coming out with Liberal Arts or other worthless degrees are doing worse, I might have agreed. People with technical degrees however are doing just fine. There is no guarantee in a market economy that the same market will persist forever. Just as products have to change with the times, so do workers. They can't keep doing the same thing and just expect things to get better. As much as the buggy whip makers cried and moaned about their loss of income, Ford's assembly line workers income rose. Same thing here.

As for the election, Clinton should have fixed election procedure, as should have Bush I, Reagan, Carter, and all the previous presidents on down the line. Election fixing has been going on far longer than Bush has been around. The only reason it's such an issue now is because it was a close race. Given your apparent dislike of Bush, it's only reasonable to think that had this particular crooked election turned out in your favor and been won by Gore, you'd be quite happy with the state of our ballot system. Instead we'd hear from Republicans about how the system is broken. As it is, we all have to suffer through endless whining by Democrats. The partisanship when it comes to election fraud is both obvious and disgusting.
Presidents have been promising things they couldn't deliver since the first election. If you believe everything a politician on the campaign trail promises, then you're just a naive sucker. I hear the Barnum's Circus is coming to your area...
Way to make assumptions. If I had disagreed with that, I would have said so in my list of disagreements. Bush is entirely to blame for the disaster in Iraq, the subsequent Middle East destabilization, and the related oil prices. I am in total agreement with the resident Bush haters on those points. However for those things I pulled out and argued against, even if you still feel that he is responsible for those, then those things make him no worse than a dozen presidents before him. What does separate him is the mess in Iraq, and as far as I'm concerned there's no reason to berate him for things that every president is guilty of doing. There's enough to discuss just sticking to Iraq and it's related issues.
Sorry, but every one of those responses are just excuses that you make as to why Bush isn't to blame.
As for the economy.. sorry, pointing out ONE exception does NOTHING to prove anything about the economy.. guess what, there could be people doing well in a bad economy where people are struggling.. the only way your example would be worth something would be if you had talked to multiple people.. and after college, they had a great job, they owned a house already, the owned a car, they had health insurance, etc... It is funny though, that you think finding one person "means your statement was false." Just shows the kind of people you are dealing with here in this forums.. Thick...
