I don't see how there could NOT be one. Its still out there, when people start going back to work and what not of COURSE its going to pick back up again.

And then, if you did another shut-down, when that shut-down was over, there would be a third wave.

And then a fourth. And a fifth, etc.

Bottom line - unless you wanted to do a total shutdown of the economy for several months, and I mean TOTAL shutdown, it will remain out there and keep coming back. And to even THINK about a total shutdown and the massive damage it would do is insane, not ever going to happen, thank Gawd.

Bottom line: OPEN SHIT BACK UP YOU DOPES. You dorks that have no real status, goals or desires in life can just stay in your mom's basement pounding out on your keyboard again and again about how dangerous this garbage is. The rest of us will get back to living our lives and if we catch it sitting out a week or two feeling not all that great, then be done with it.

Open. Everything. NOW!!!
 
We are playing a cat and mouse game until the vaccine hits. Nobody wants to say it, because it's still far away, but that's what it comes down to.

There is no reason we can't walk around with masks in the interim. Some, or many, just don't want to. The Spring that has come and gone for us was supposed to be filled with a crap-ton of development activity for my kids. I want to get back out there asap too, but I'm not going to be stupid about it and just undo the 2 months of "progress" that was made. I want that sacrifice to be for something. Make no mistake, a lot fewer have it to spread it because of this effort. Keep it that way and mask up even with everything open.

It appears Sweden did urge to stay isolated and simply didn't order closures. As much as they listened, their numbers were still more terrible than neighboring countries who closed. Unnecessary deaths occurred. You want to just open everything back up and let it hit... yeah not wise.

As for herd immunity like Sweden did (just let it hit)... well that's not what herd immunity is supposed to be about and I don't know how they were approved to do it. Obviously it ain't working that way either and unnecessary deaths occurred.

Honestly the way I see it is this:

There are 2 ways to fight this:
1) Try to Quarantine everyone and hope it stops spreading
2) Herd Immunity a'la Sweden. Continue life as normal for most able-bodied folks that are healthy and/or young. Don't cancel school. Continue to go to work if you aren't old/vulnerable.

We are essentially doing the WORST of both of those options.


We are attempting to quarantine - but there is no way in hell were going to succeed. We don't have the authoritarian government to demand that people stay put. It's also just not in our culture. See videos/pics/News media reporting of things like pool parties with hundreds of people, etc... The Florida beaches were flooded all up and down the coast this past weekend and the cops essentially said "There are 600 of them for every 1 of us - we legitimately can't police everyone"

We aren't actively attempting herd immunity - but naturally people are getting the virus. The problem is we ARENT doing the other part of herd immunity - which is allowing schools/businesses to continue being open. Thus we are getting fucked economically as well.



Honestly, I can't declare which one is best, but the core problem is that we can't fully commit and do one of the two. Instead we do the worst of both. People on the quarantine side are hands down the most mentally retarded though. What was once "OMG SEE THIS GRAPH! WE CANT OVERLOAD HOSPITALS!!'11one!1" has now shifted to "Let's wait it out until the vaccine is approved and distributed when it comes in 2022".



Whatever though - I took 3 months of paid paternity leave during this shit and am just now returning to work. Home Depot was always open for me to buy things to get shit done around the house 😛

Your obsession with mothers is likely due to your own Oedipus complex, your sexual attraction to your own mother is being projected onto others in negative and angry outbursts where you try to hurt others to cover your own pain.
