At least Zane had the decency to say he was sorry if it happened; I hope you rot in hell.
From the KSDK TV news site:
(KSDK) An Arnold man is now charged in the death of his own three-month old son. Michael Butler was arrested Saturday afternoon and charged with second degree murder in connection with his son Tyler's death.
Police responded to Butler's home Tuesday. When they arrived, he was trying to give CPR to his son. Little Tyler was rushed to the hospital, where he died Friday morning. Police say autopsy results show the infant suffered skull fractures and internal injuries. Butler's family members say there's no way he could've killed his son.
"I lost my grandson, my pride and joy," Bobby Sue Rose, Tyler's grandmother, told Newschannel Five. "If somebody wanted someone dead they wouldn't do CPR on him. My son was crazy about his kid because he loved kids. I don't think he done it."
Arnold police say they're not sure of a motive, but say Michael Butler's explanation of how his son stopped breathing was suspect from the beginning.
"There was a lot of conflicting statements from the get go," said Arnold Police Chief Robert Shockey. "So we were looking at the father from the beginning because the hospital told us these were not natural injuries. The boy had three skull fractures."
Family members say those injuries might have come when Tyler fell off a couch two weeks ago. Ted Lubey, Butler's attorney, claims his client is being falsely accused.
"He said he didn't do it and I would like to believe him that he didn't do it," says Lubey.
