How cool is your boss? Suggestions for a cheap, yet meaningful present for a cool boss?

I was just wondering how many of you got really cool bosses? There seems to be a stereotype out there that a lot of bosses are really stuck up, power hungry bastards. Yet the two boss that I got (two jobs) are really cool. One of them is around my age so she kinda understands me better. She lets me go to lunch while on the hour, go home early and get paid, and even puts in a few good words to the supreme boss. I guess I feel really lucky and think I should get her something on her upcoming bday.

I wish I had a cool boss. My boss looks like an old fat scary Jesus that smokes. And he is a manic depressent, so anything you say, he feels is an attack.

I'm my own boss.

And I think that's cool😎

But enough talk about me.....

Find out what she likes. Go from there...

well it can be a little more than 10 bux. and yes i don't want to be sending the wrong message. a cup is a good idea as a complimentary gift to something else.

Agreed, don't go overboard on the gift as it could send the wrong message...

Ugh. I wish I had a cool boss. My boss is a dildo. He's cranky, lazy, impatient, and too opinionated for his own good.

My staff members have given me the usual: plants in pretty pots for my desk (I love those), stuffed animals, a nice bottle of wine, bottle of Kahlua... I appreciated it, and just the fact that they gave me something on my birthday or Christmas made me feel wonderful and appreciated. I try to be a cool boss so I can get lots of swag... oh, my favorite was one of those baskets with candles and foot lotion and a thing to massage my feet (I'm always complaining about my feet). There's always gift certificates for a restaurant or movie passes--those are inexpensive, but not cheap. Anyway, good luck.

My dad and my uncle are my boses. They both kick ass.

Don't get her anything too serious...never know, she may take it the wrong way. get her just a nice card. i think.

my boss (ex-boss now) is a a$$hole, just had a mid-year review with him couple weeks ago, and he basically told me I am a "good worker, but not an excellent worker, blah blah blah, take it or leave it, etc" He refused to give me a raise until my 2nd annnversary date in 01/02, most people get a raise right after their mid-yr review, thats what the review is all about, right? Anyway, last week during his vacation, I applied for another position within the company, and guess what? I got the job! he is gonna have a fun time finding an "excellent" worker to replace me or maybe have a heart attack once he find out the news on monday!

haha
