I've never seen an LCD that could do this before...

Link

It's an SGI flatpanel display. 18.1" 1280x1024... yeah yeah, that's all nice, but the real cool thing is "Built-in scaler adjusts input resolutions to the screen size"

I've never seen that on an LCD before. How cool is that? 🙂

*drool*

I wonder what the image quality will be like though.

if I play a game at 1024*768, will everthing look nice and proportional?

<< my sony lcd can do that.

it can even do 1280x1024@85Hz
>>

But then isn't the real question: can I have it?

Oh, just found another SGI monitor... it can do 1600x1024 widescreen at 22" 🙂

That's cool about your sony. How much?

Paid like $1300 when it came out.

There's a Samsung that can do 1920x14xx

Or something like that. It's 16:9

I'll let you have it for $800.

hheheheeh.

JK, i like mine, it's one of the only lcd that can do 85Hz at 1280x1024

Alot of LCDs come with built in scalers now.

But the quality of the scalers differ according to the manufacturer of the scalers. The best ones are made with chips from Genesis Microchip. Samsung uses these chips. Many of the Japanese LCD manufacturers use their own scalers which aren't that good.
