How complicated is your paycheck?

For me? Pretty simple. I go to the bank and deposit it.

For my employer... Pretty complicated, apparently. And they don't even withhold taxes. Or provide vacation/sick time. Literally all they do is tell their accounting company to write a check to me with what should be the same dollar amount every two weeks... And almost every check, they manage to screw up something. They aren't even capable of doing direct deposit.

All I need to know is my annual salary and that they are depositing a check into my acct. I go a couple months at a time without even checking it. Unless you're living close to paycheck-to-paycheck, or at a non-salary job, it's not necessary, is it? I mean, can they say "sorry too late you should've caught the mistake earlier - we can't change it now."?

Pretty straightforward, I guess. Regular time, OT, shift differential and vacation for income. Nothing special about taxes and health care deductions, everything is done on a bi-weekly basis. It's been more complicated in previous years for having to get retro pay because payroll screwed up something.

Not salaried, but I follow my bank account and know the breakdown well enough to spot an inconsistency with the deposit, which doesn't happen often. Only check my stub a few times a year.

I know all you ATOT high rollers get a "bonus" toward the end of the year once you hit that $118k base and don't have to pay SSN tax anymore for the rest of the year.

They would fix it although I find it easier to do a quick check every other week than to spend more time digging through timesheets and paychecks. Granted I also make three different hourly wages depending on what I am doing so that plays a large part of that

I check it each month. Ours is fairly complex...and just two weeks ago I noticed that a "wellness" credit I received just suddenly disappeared from my payment. I immediately sent a message to HR to get it resolved (which they did).

We don't live paycheck to paycheck, but I keep a very close eye on our finances to wring every last cent I can for investments and whatnot. This vigilance on my part has worked well for us as we are in a much better position in life than I could have ever imagined 15 years ago when I finished college.

Thanks! I looked at my check and noticed I got my annual raise last month. Usually my boss sticks his head in the door to my office and says "You are getting a 3% raise this year" The standard raise for here. This year he did not even to that. I got the raise 6 weeks ago and just found out now.
