I bought a web hosting service the other night and it got everything setup....

I have my domain registered through godaddy.com and my host is ripplehost.com

I have my domain forwarding setup correctly.

My site is amdman12ghz.com, Other people tell me that it is up. But for some reason I cant veiw it, but I can view the page without the domain name...... http://server1.ripplehost.com/~rh273/. That is what It should point too.

Everybody that I have asked has said that it works and both display the same thing. The only one that works for me is the ripplehost one, It times out when I use my domain.

Thanks for your help.
Josh

Ok yes, I havent uploaded any pages yet. The only one that works for me is the ripplehost address.

I did have apache running on my computer for amdman12ghz.com

could that be the problem? that my computer still thinks that its on my computer?
How do I completely clear IE cache?

I have tried using the options under internet explorer but that didnt solve my problem.

Try a "tracert www.amdman12ghz.com" and see where it goes. Do the same for the other one. They should go to the same place, or close to it.

It's a DNS propagation issue, clearing your cache/cookies/history won't do anything. Starting with the DNS cache on your local system, it looks like you've already done an ipconfig /flushdns in the command line with no effect. Next would be to look at your router if you have one that caches DNS entries. After that it's generally beyond your control, you'll just have to wait until your ISP's DNS entry for that domain times out.

Edit: Last but not least, make sure there's no entry for that domain in your hosts file as well.

I flushed my computers DNs, reset my router. and Checked my host file and all thats in it is 127.0.0.1 and localhost beside that.

How long will it take for my isp dns entry to go out?

Thanks,
Josh
