How come they don't make canned broccoli

who buys canned vegetables anyway? I can understand corn and peas for convenience, but it's much healthier to eat fresh foods.

or frozen, for that matter.

except tomatoes. canned tomatoes are better for sauces than fresh ones, generally. unless you grow your own. and maybe tomatoes on the vine.

frozen may actually be better than fresh, as frozen stuff was likely picked when it was ripe, whereas fresh stuff was probably picked well before ripening.

You can actually get canned tomatoes that are pretty damn good. Good enough to hold up to the standards of elitist pizza snobs, anyway.

Over cooked broccoli is sad. Broccoli shouldn't be cooked more than a fw minutes, unless in a stew, otherwise it loses all its' succulent flavour.

I love fresh asparagus. I had canned asparagus last week - it was the nastiest, mushiest thing I ever ate.

George HW Bush would like to disagree with you.

You can't lose what wasn't there to begin with.
