Just wondering is there a hold up or something like drivers. or is it really a cost issue.

i would have expected at least xtreme systems people to have done it already.

I don't think there are any drivers for it yet. Plus, you'd have to have an AMD 790FX motherboard (with 4 PCIe x16 slots) which I don't think anyone with an 'extreme' system is interested in due to relatively poor Phenom performance compared to Core2Quad. It's possible someone might want it just for the novelty factor though...

For all four cards

The Crossfire X driver which can support the new R680 dual card, or up to four RV670 Radeon 38x0 cards, should resurface in middle of January.

This was the plan all along and this was the original schedule for the RV670, Radeon 3870 and 3850 cards. Well, the hardware came a bit too early, but the driver is still some three weeks away.

ATI will have something to show at CES that starts on the January 5th , but the real stuff comes a bit earlier. The funny thing is that the real high end from both Nvidia and ATI comes after Xmas, or in late January, but if you want high end and fast Crysis than you better get a D8E or an R680.
