How come there is no "take-out" ordering for groceries/costco?

Have you noticed how Costco randomly moves shit around so you need to search for it? I'm under the impression that they want you to browse and impulse buy stuff.

Line your hat with new tinfoil, nobody moves stuff around just to confuse people. There's no need, store design is a science and most people will need to walk the entire store perimeter to pick up everything on their list. Nobody puts staples like milk and bread where they're easy to get in and out.

Costco changes more because their products are a lot more fluid than a typical store. They carry far fewer items and turn them over rapidly based on the price they can get at a given time. It's not unusual for them to bring in an item once and then never have it again if the manufacturer won't meet their price. So they replace it with a different item and the aisle where it was displayed changes a little.

You can fax in an order (I think you can email it to) and we pick the order put it in a cart (or carts) and you stop by and pick it up. But, I think the minimum order is $250. It is mostly business and Amish families that use the service.

So it 100% is available, but you can't just order a rotisserie chicken and pick it up.

They have free picking for business customers with orders over $500. I'm assuming that it doesn't include loading, but I think you can get the idea that it's expensive, if they require an order size of $500 and don't do it for everyone.

they could ask someone to do it for them, and some communities do allow limited use of technology after examination of how it may impact the community (ie: having a fax machine in your living room probably isn't allowed, but it wouldn't surprise me if some community center/town hall had one for the entire community to use for business reasons)

I just checked and the minimum order is $500. And I also confirmed that there are Amish that fax their orders in. I'm not sure where the fax machines are located. But, I am sure that they love Velveeta!
