How come smokers are allowed to take ~5 minute "breaks" pretty much every hour?

I honestly don't consider smoke breaks as a break. It's more like an inconvenience. It's more like 'damnit, I need a cigarette'.. and then I rush out.. hurry to puff one down, then run back in to work to hurry and avoid issues with people having problems about me having a smoke.

I hate taking smoke breaks, I hate being addicted to those stupid things. It's not really relaxing at all when you know that management could be judging your usefulness while doing it.

Based on the price of coffee at Starbucks, since I don't drink coffee at work I am saving my company $20/day. They should give me this money back as a bonus at the end of each month.
