A few vendors have 7ns (143MHz) ram out there.

I wouldn't expect them to go up in the future. With other memory technologies on the market and coming soon (DDR, Rambus, DDRII), there's just no point in it.

There are various problems with crosstalk and interference between bus lines on an SDRAM. Not being an EE, the only thing I can say is that you probably won't find many people who can give a thorough scientific explaination.

Because RAM is enough of a bitch to stock to begin with. Very volitle prices. Carrying something that few people even know about would be worse. Folks that need PC150 or 166 wouldn't be buying it from CC or BB probably...

After reading all the other replies already given... I'll put in this one...:

Because of new technologies for one thing.. DDR333 is out.. (PC2700) and it there are already mobos out there that support it fully.. (166FSB) - the Iwill XP333 for example, but you sure as hell aren't going to see 166FSB mainboards in SDR flavour i can almost bet it... if they were released, you can bet they would be ridiculed.. much like the P4/SDR combos that are shockingly available.. That's just one of many reasons why SDR clock speeds haven't gone up. :)

It's a guess, but an educated one.. hope that's insight.
