The geforce 7800 has been out for a while and yet there's only one variant available. When is the 7700GT gonna come out? Did Nvidia released the 7 series ahead of schedule that they feel no need to fill the different sectors of the market since there's no competing with it? Splendid!

Um, it's all over AnandTech. They are releasing a new 7900 series and from the grapevine also 7600GT. When you ask? Supposedly in march.

because they have plenty of 6xxx cards that fill out the mid-range segment ATM.

I wouldn't shout for the 7600... It seems like it will only have a 128-bit memory bus and 8 pixel pipelines... Better is to get yourself a 6800GS for that price...

Thats the whole thing, they already have plenty fast mid and low end cards (6600 and 6200) and the new ones don't look like they are going to be much faster then them anyways. Now if the 7600 is just a faster version of the 6600 then it makes sense that they are waiting till they make the switch to .09 micron which will lower size (cost) and increase speed (performance).
