How come I get an email when im subscribed to a thread?

Is it possible not to get an email everytime someone posts to a thread I'm subscribed to? I'd prefferably just like the update in my "today" section.

 
I believe that under Customize, you can set your subscription notices to go to your PMs instead of email...
