How come AT does not have a [code] tag?

 tag?  I thought all it had was the "attach code" feature, which is an entirely different thing.  Sure, it lets you attached unformetted text, but only at the end of the message, and only in that tiny text box.  

I think what most people want is a way to insert fixed-width text in to arbitrary places of their posts.  Similar to how you aren't restricted to where you can use the quote tag.

Sweet.  Don't get me wrong, attach code is better than nothing, but [code]
is much more useful in my opinion.

What on earth are u talking about? The whole attach code thing is lame at best.... you can have only one of them, it ends up at the bottom of the page and won't evena accept HTML

I would e happy to write something for syntax highlighting or something.  I have done a bunch or jEdit.
