My Samoyed is an indoor dog - although she absolutely loves cold weather. She'll lay outside in the middle of the yard in a howling blizzard for hours, I'd have to make her come in. Then she walks in the house with like 2 inches of snow on her back and shakes it all over the place. I remember one particular time we had some snow and it had all melted except for one small patch, she laid down right in that small patch of snow, what a psycho dog.

My 120 male Samoyed would run around in the snow acting like cocaine was raining from the sky. When he finally got tired, he would lay down in the snow, and fall asleep. I would actually have to go outside in 0 degree weather and wake him up to bring him in. Come to think of it, I've never seen a cold Samoyed! :p

C'mon people, too cold for a dog? You wonder how dogs ever made it hundreds of years ago when a lot of them roamed freely. Or how wolves or foxes make it out in the cold. Dogs coats and fat are made for cold weather. It will be fine.

if the dogs had a choice, I am 100% certain they would prefer to be inside where it is warm.

When i built my house i put the furnace room on the outside of the house, and a dog door on the outside door there. My dogs sleep in there, which is seperate from the rest of the house by a door. Since the furnace is in there they stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. They love it, and they aren't getting the house dirty.

They've been bred to have characteristics other than cold weather survival.
